    LI: Mixed fractions turned into improper fractions. 

What I am doing is turning a mixed fraction into a improper fraction. 

I am showing you how to do it. 

I am helping you so you know what to do when it comes to this strategy.

THE WEEKEND

MY ROOM MAKEOVER 

On Saturday I was going to go to my netball game to watch but it started raining so we didn't go. 

So mum decided that we would sort out my room because I have a lot of clutter in my room and my wardrobe is a mess, We went to the Wherehouse and got some stuff to start.

I was so excited because I have been waiting for ages to do my room. And today is the day!!!  

So we got 

1. Coat hangers 

2. 10 pocket shoe organiser 

3. 11 pocket wardrobe organiser 

4.  Storage bins 

And now we start!!!
So first we did my wardrobe and you should of seen how much stuff was in it. 

And then we did under my bed there was not that much stuff under it.
We put all the stuff into the storage pocket organizer and now it look so tidy.

I love having my room like that nice and tidy.

I am so excited for the school disco. 

It sounds so much fun, I went last year and it was amazing I hope this year is the same. 

Last year I didn't go with anyone because it was my first one and I was nervous but Amber and Meelah where there so I just hung out with them. 

Instead of just hanging out with them this year we are planning to go with each other and we are going to ask Maiya to come with us if she goes. 

I am excited to  go because I love things like that where I can just dance and have fun with my good time with my friends  

I am just that type of person that will just get myself embarrassed.

Last week I moved up to gold on student agency progressions and that is the highest you can get up to!

I am super proud of myself and I am happy as well. 

This is how we move up. 

1. We highlight in yellow what we think we can do.

2. Then we go to our mentoring teacher .

I have lots of optudies and I can also use my chromebook outside and that's pretty cool because no one else can only if the are one GOLD.  

I have highlighted some goals in my progressions and am soon going to get them checked off and then I am done with that.

MY WEEKEND WITH DAD

Last weekend i went to my dads house and we had to drive 5 to 6 hours to get there. I love seeing my dad, but it takes ages.  

So in the weekend we did not do much. We arrived on the thursday night so i missed friday of school!  We got to my dads house at midnight so i went straight to bed and dad was sleeping and did not wake up. In the morning my mum came and got me because dad had to go to work at 4.30 in the morning because it was a friday. So we went of and got some money and took it home because we where taking dad out for dinner. I got chicken tenders and curly fries and the drink i got is a raspberry float if you don't know what a float is it is ice cream soda.

The next day i went to my grandads house and that is right next to my cousins school. I looked to see if i could see them and i saw mitchell and he was singing a maori song it was so cute. 

At there lunch time break we saw both of them and they where so excited to see us. Tate said " i have not seen you in ages.

For transform I am in a group with Meelah and Laila. We are in environment group and what we have to do is, we have to make a product that is biodegradable or that can be all reciclable. Meelah,Laila and i are doing Milk bottle and i we are doing a site to present it we are going to make it look so cool and it is going to be even better because we are in a 3 and everyone else is in 2 so we have a high chance. Miss Hamlin loves color so we are going to make it so colorful. This week we have to find out why glass milk bottles turned into plastic milk bottle and how created plastic milk bottles. 

BRUCE MCLAREN TRIP

LI: I explain the purpose of a piece of writing

So on wednesday we went to Bruce Mclaren and we did some cool things and i will tell you what i did soon but first i am going to tell you why we when. The only people who went where the year 6s and room 24 came with us. We went because we needed to get a feeling on how big and how a intmedit runs like the times and everything else. So we did some tech, tech is something when you make food or you do some weaving and some art.

I did some sort art and i was for maori's what we did was we did some sort of maori patterns on a plastic plate and you had to wright the meaning around the rim and i did two i did one hammerhead shark and i did some koru and i did some triangles and the triangles represent the teeth of a dragon and the koru's mean starting a new beginning and a new life.

CATCHING FALLING STARS

Catching Falling Stars 

DATE: 8th of May 

LI: I use full stops.

We have to read a book and i am reading catching falling stars, at the moment i am up to chapter 5 and that's not that far  so i need to keep read lots ever night. We have to read it in three weeks and that's only the rest of this week and next week. There is 288 pages and 24 chapters. i am on page 63 i am going to read lots tonight and lots every night. 

i love this book so far, i will not spoil it for you because you should go read it. Its really cool.

THE SHOP

Apple shop 

Date: 2nd of May 2019
LI: To have capital letters and full stops.

We have a shop for the apples and I am the manager for it which is ands kind of weird, because I am not a student leader. All of the student leaders are working there as well and so is Meelah but she has choir most of the time. The shop is open every Thursday and we have a roster, we have up to 60 apples and then we go down to 10 I will show you a picture at the end of this blog post. I love working at the shop and today was my  first day, and I am so excited.

On Tuesday 2nd of April we got introduced to something  and they are apples. You can trade them in and get something from the PB4L shop, you can get lots of stuff and SWEETS. Meelah, Maiya, Katianu, Toby, Amelia,  Chelsey, and Miss Hamlin, and i where punching out the apples and putting them in bundles off 100 thats alot write and putting a rubber band over them and putting them in a box.We have about 15,000 apples it took forever to do. I loved doing it  this i one of the bundles of 100. We are starting this in term 2. I am so excited.

Cross country 2019

I really want to do cross country for some strange reason but I can not do it because I broke my toe and it is out of the moon boot but it still not healed to run a lot and I have done it every year but I can't do it this year. I really want to do it and it is my last year here at oratia so then I will be in a different school so I will be doing a different course and most times I don't really want to do it but this year i do because i have not been running for ages so i feel like running,when everyone else is doing cross country i have to sit in the hot,hot sun with my drink bottle and i don't want to do that.I do love cheating on my friends because it keeps them pumping to keep going well thats whats i think but it puts a smile on there red faces that are like a red tomato. I also love cheering on the little kids that i know,and there little legs are running as fast as they can.They are so cute.

Last weekend was my dad's weekend i went all by myself because the girls my sisters didn't want to go. It was so fun i loved it so this is what i did. 

The first thing i did was my dad picked me up early from school an we got burger king for lunch because i have not had it yet lunch because i was playing.

Then we when to my house and got my stuff and off we went. When we got there it was about 6.00pm, and we went to the supermarket to get some dinner and we got stake eggs and chips that is my favorite dinner.

And then we set up a movie and hade a movie night, i was the person that gave out the movie tickets that i made by hand, and dad asked for some popcorn and lollies. 

We also did mini golf and i came second and my dad come first. Guess what i had  for lunch a humongous waffle it was amazing.

MY group for maths is workshop five, in that work shop we have been learning how to do ths so if this was the question

This is our WALT: Use partitioning to solve large whole number addition problems.

This is one of the word problems that i have to do.

Students in the Clinton School District are collecting toys for children. Last week, they collected 424 toys. This week, they collected 345. How many toys have they collected so far?

BREAKING MY TOE

 BREAKING MY TOE 

On Wednesday the 27th of February

i broke my toe. It was cupcake day and i was going to line up to get a cupcake and a boy tripped over me and bent my toe back i thought it was going to be ok so i lined up and it was still hurting so i gave my money to Meelah and she got me one, when she was getting me one i went up to the office and they gave me an ice pack and sent me back to class. At this time it was morning tea eating. The bell rung to go back into class but i was still sore and i was crying so Miss Hamlin told the office lady to call my mum. My mum couldn't get off work so Rheannon picked me up, and we waited a the mobile for my mum to pick me up. Finally mum got to us and it was still hurting really bad so mum took my to the doters. The doctor said that it was really badly bruised so they said that i had to have an X-ray. After the X-ray we had to wait a bit then she said that i had a BROKEN TOE, so they put me in a moon boot, and i have to get another X-ray on wednesday, and if it is not better by wednesday i have to have the moon boot on for another week.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!      

SWIMMING

Last week we when swimming and a lady came in and her name was Kate she is from swimming safe.  

Making waves 

I learnt how to swim through big ways because you see the kids on side of the pool the are pushing back and ford to make waves and the people in the middle are trying to swim through them and when we were swimming through the waves we could not touch the bottom. Also at swimming we did sculling and you could not t the bottom or you would be out and i was one of the last ones. we had to scull for three minutes. 

then we had some free time my favourite part was swimming through the big waves
